If you don’t see the book you want on the shelf, write it yourself.

My Author Journey

March 19, 2022

Sharing the WHY…

Many of the earliest memories I have of school revolve around literature. My first grade teacher Mrs. Norelli reading Miss. Nelson is Missing, or my second grade teacher Miss. Newman reading excerpts from Shel Silverstein Where the Sidewalk Ends, before recess. In 5th Grade I can remember reading Old Yeller, aloud in class.

As a mother of 4 children and a Speech-Language Pathologist, I read numerous children’s books daily. I have always dreamed about writing my own picture books. Books that are inclusive, humorous and of course spark a love for reading.

As the world began to shutdown in 2020, I felt like it was the perfect time to begin my journey to become an author. The journey was sent into overdrive as we moved our family from NY to the Nashville area in August, 2020. I was given the opportunity to take a little time off from practicing Speech Pathology to focus on settling my family in a new city, finishing building our dreamhouse and making my children’s book a reality.
