Modern Farmhouse Love
I never thought I would live in a white house. I have always been drawn to color, colors make me happy. Growing up in the Northeast, I always thought I would live in a perfect yellow colonial house.
Imagine my surprise when we finally got the opportunity to design and build our dream home and I couldn’t stop thinking about a white Modern Farmhouse with black windows. The clean lines, classic neutrals, wood accents and inviting porches drew me in. I fell hard for the Modern Farmhouse.
As much as I love color, the neutral palette of the Modern Farmhouse has given me the visual calmness I need with just the perfect pop of color to make me happy. The wood tones and textures of the design are reminiscent of your grandmother’s house, which instantly makes you feel at home.
Styling with a neutral palette has actually been freeing. Sticking to a color palette when purchasing decor makes it interchangeable between spaces. This is a huge money saver since I love to freshen rooms frequently. Instead of running to Target each time I need to freshen a room, I just swap between rooms.

“For a house to be successful, the objects in it must communicate with one another, respond and balance one another.”
